Create Your Perfect Day

Perhaps life is a little overwhelming… perhaps your day gets away from you and then, well it’s over and you are left feeling like you missed something, forgot something, or simply did not achieve anything you really wanted to do! Doesn’t feel good, does it?
So how do you create your perfect day?
Do you even know?
Maybe it’s easier to feel into what your perfect day feels like…
Let’s take a moment to daydream a little.
Now, let’s not forget we’re not talking about a holiday on some incredible tropical island here, of course those days would be AH-MAZING. What we want to do is bring the AH-MAZING into your daily life. A life full of amazing-ness that does not require a holiday to feel good. Because every day feels good, woot woot!
Right, so what does your perfect day feel like?
Is it calm? Peaceful? Social? Quiet? Busy? Slower than the norm? Do you like going lots of places and doing lots of things? Do you like staying in one place? Perhaps you like to talk a lot? Only a little? Do you like appointments back-to-back or would you prefer time to saunter?
It’s important to remember this can change over time too. What worked once may not continue to be. And that is ok. Adapt, adjust, go with the flow. Surrender.
Ok, let’s really do it now. Let’s create. Grab a pen and write down all of your non-negotiables Daily, what does your Soul call you to do? Read? Yoga? Run? How much time do you need? Write that down. How do you travel to wherever you go? Is there something you want to learn? Can you listen to an audiobook or a podcast on the way? Write that down.
Have you been yearning for some healthier eating habits? Is it really important for you to allow extra time for meal research and preparation? Write that down. While you’re at it, you probably should note down your work and family commitments too. It’s nice to daydream but we also need to stay present and realistic. Yes I know I know I used the word should, but really, it does have a place sometimes! Keep going until you have a clear picture of what a successful and meaningful day looks like to you.
Now expand it, think about your perfect week, your perfect month, your perfect year. Perhaps create a column for each and make some notes to remind you of what you would really love to experience and achieve. Knowing all of this is so important because it makes us conscious. Then when all of the demands of the world start to weigh in, we know what we need as a human being and as a Soul, and we can make a conscious choice about what we choose to do and therefore how we create our reality.
There are always circumstances we will bend and adapt to, but if we create our time consciously and have it as a template in our life, it is far easier to come back to when we stray off course a little. Especially when it has been tried and tested and makes us feel all kinds of, yes, you guessed it, AH-MAZING! This is one of those exercises that is fabulous to do each year… perhaps with that vision board you’ve been meaning to do…
